Many of our towns and cities in the North west have a heritage of herbal medicine, which since the has sadly over time been lost. Herbal Medicine has always been the medicine of the people and these classes aim to re- educate communities into using local plants for medicine making for personal and family health.
In these classes which run in Bolton, and Bury, the aim is to provide affordable Herbal education to local communities. The classes run for two hours, one evening each month and focus on one (or two) plants each month; getting to really know them in depth and developing ways to explore their uses and how to make medicine from them. Each session will include herb tastings, identification, how to use that plant for healing and a demonstration of making a medicine. The sessions cost £15 for 2 hours. Places are limited and need to be pre paid via paypal. No refunds or transfers to other classes are given if the classes are cancelled within 48 hours of the start of the class.
These classes at the Kitchen on great Moor St, Bolton have been running for over 2 years and are very popular. The classes run on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm. The Kitchen is a vegan cafe that is a community co-operative that serves delicious vegan food. Its open from 6pm on the night of the class and many people chose to eat first and meet up over a cup of coffee.
