Shamanic rattles can be used for healing, journeying, space clearing and are much more portable than drums. In this evening workshop we will be working in sacred space crafting the head of the rattle with deer hide and sewing it ready for stuffing so it can dry at home. we will also be preparing the handle to be attached when its dry and filled with crystals, seeds, herbs or small stones. Crystal chips can be purchased separately for a small cost. During the evening we will be working respectfully with the deer and honouring it as this magical tool will be infused with your own energy. The rattles are made from natural materials so will vary from the rattle in the photograph and most likely be much lighter in colour.
The cost is £30 and this workshop needs to be pre booked via paypal as numbers are limited. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start of the workshop will not be refunded
Fish skin tanning is an ancient craft that makes use of what is seen as a waste product as well as a sacred skill in honouring the fish. We will be learning how to tan salmon skin from scratch as well as softening a pre tanned one to make beautiful leather so you get to work with the whole process. You will also have opportunity to make a small medicine pouch with the leather to take home. The workshop will be held outdoors at Grown your Joy near Chorley, Lancashire and a great space just to be in nature and re connect. This is a rarely taught skill and a great opportunity to learn this process using a user friendly way of tanning that only takes 1-2 weeks to do and can open the door to a sustainable and ancient way of working.
The class will be under 10 people and you will get to take what you make home as well as a fish skin in a jar to finish at home and look after.
The Venue is Grow your Joy, near Charnock Richard, Chorley, Lancashire
The cost of the workshop is £80
A deposit can be made of £20 to secure your place.
